Thieves was born in 2006 with the ethical commitment to sustainability and passion for design.
Thieves uses uses sustainable fabrics such as hemp blends, peace silks, organic wools, organic cottons, lyocell, vegetable tanned leather, recycled materials, organic linen, bamboo, and soy. All pieces are designed and produced in Toronto, Canada.

Thieves's designer Sonja den Elzen participated in Toronto’s inaugural Green Living Show in spring 2007. In the following years, she presented her collections at Toronto and Montreal Fashion Week. In March 2010, Thieves was listed on Forbes.com one of top 10 eco designers and nominated for Fashion Takes Action FTA Design Forward.
